Advantages of FRP filter tank

1

Corrosion Resistance and Durability: The vessel is highly resistant to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting performance and durability even in harsh environments.

2

Good Heat Resistance: It has good heat resistance, allowing it to withstand high temperatures without compromising its structural integrity.

3

Non-Rusting Structure: Since the vessel does not use metal in its construction, it is not prone to rusting or corrosion, extending its lifespan.

4

Thermal and Electrical Insulation: The plastic material used in the vessel's construction provides excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties, preventing heat loss and offering electrical safety.

5

Low Maintenance Costs: The composite filter tanks are resistant to chemical corrosion and abrasion, reducing maintenance costs. The smooth surface of the vessel prevents dirt and microorganism buildup, further lowering maintenance requirements.

6

Lightweight and Compact: The vessel is lightweight, weighing only a fraction of a metal pipe. Its compact design allows for easy transportation and installation in various locations such as bathrooms, basements, or terraces.

7

Protective Coating: The composite filter column is coated with a layer of polyester both internally and externally, protecting osmosis, corrosion, and penetration from natural substances. This makes the vessel suitable for treating water sources with high salinity, acidity, or other challenging conditions.

FRP Tank Production Process

1-
01.

Inner Liner Production

The production begins with a seamless polyethylene (PE) inner liner, formed through rotational molding.
This one-piece liner creates a smooth internal surface, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance and completely eliminating leakage risks caused by welding or joints.

02.

Filament Winding & Structural Reinforcement

After liner forming, the tank enters the automated filament winding stage.

Using PLC-controlled computer-assisted winding machines, continuous fiberglass rovings are precisely wound onto a rotating mold.
This process allows:

  • High fiber content ratio
  • Accurate fiber orientation control
  • Uniform wall thickness distribution

The filament winding structure provides high tensile strength and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, making the tank suitable for pressure vessels and cylindrical chemical storage applications.

3-
03.

Thermal Curing

The wound tank is then transferred to a controlled temperature curing environment.

During this stage:

  • Epoxy or polyester resin fully cross-links
  • Fiberglass layers are permanently bonded
  • Structural stability and pressure resistance are achieved

The optimized curing process enables the FRP tank to withstand working pressures up to 10.5 kg/cm² without structural damage or deformation.

04.

Opening Machining & Assembly

Once cured, precision machining is performed to create top and/or side openings according to design requirements.

Threaded inserts or flange connections are installed, followed by:

  • Valve interfaces
  • Distributors (if required)
  • Base assembly

All components are fitted to ensure airtight sealing and mechanical reliability.

05.

Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Every FRP tank undergoes a hydrostatic pressure test before delivery.

The test verifies:

  • Pressure resistance
  • Structural integrity
  • Leak-free performance

Only tanks that pass the pressure test are approved for final packaging.

06.

Packaging

After testing, each tank is cleaned, inspected, and packed using export-grade protective materials.

  • Standard packaging includes:
  • Protective film and foam
  • Carton or palletized packaging
  • Reinforced strapping for safe transportation

This ensures the FRP tank arrives in perfect condition, ready for installation.

FAQ

Q1: What Do The "14" And "65" In The 1465 Model Stand For?

A: 14 = 14 inches (360mm) in diameter, 65 = 65 inches (1660mm) in height, which are common industry specifications and are suitable for most standard filtration systems.

Q2: Can It Be Used For Seawater Or High-Salinity Water?

A: Absolutely! HDPE lining + polyester coating double protection has been running stably for 3 years in the Malaysian desalination project without corrosion.

Q3: Is The Working Pressure Of 150PSI Adjustable?

A: It is not adjustable. The design pressure is 150PSI (safety factor 1.5 times). It is recommended to use a matching pressure control valve to avoid overpressure damage.

Q4: Compared With Stainless Steel Tanks, How Is The Cost-Effectiveness?

A: The initial purchase cost is 30% lower, and no rust removal/replacement is required during the 10-year life cycle. The comprehensive cost is only that of stainless steel tanks.

Q5: What Should I Do If There Is A Leakage During The Warranty Period?

A: We provide a 3-year warranty, respond to leakage issues within 24 hours, reissue the liner/seal ring free of charge, and the technical team will provide remote guidance on replacement.
