Products Description
The 1665 model FRP filter tank is a compact fiberglass-reinforced plastic pressure vessel. With a capacity of approximately 190L and a filtration flow rate of approximately 2 m³/hour, the 1665 is designed for small to medium-sized water treatment systems.
The FRP tank can be loaded with filtration materials such as ion exchange resin, quartz sand, and activated carbon to remove calcium ions, magnesium ions, suspended solids, sediments, color, and odor. It features excellent pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, supporting long-term continuous operation.
The filter tank utilizes a seamless polyethylene (PE) inner liner. The outer shell is made of reinforced fiberglass and high-performance epoxy resin through a 3D winding process.
Compared to steel tanks, FRP filter tanks are lightweight, significantly reducing installation and transportation costs.
Key Features
- Seamless PE inner liner: Prevents leakage and media contamination.
- High corrosion resistance: Suitable for acidic and alkaline water.
- Lightweight structure: Easy handling and fast installation.
- Smooth inner surface: Reduces scaling and pressure loss.
- Flexible configuration: Supports top inlet and center pipe design.
- Stable pressure performance: Designed for 0.2–0.5 MPa working pressure.

2.5'' opening and base:
The Model 1665 uses a 2.5-inch opening and a standard base. Images of the opening and base are shown below. Alternatively, the Model 1665 can also be used with a 4-inch top and bottom opening; the specific configuration depends on various factors including the piping configuration of the entire water treatment system, pipe location, and the direction of filter media loading.

Applications
The 1665 FRP Filter Tank is suitable for:
- Iron and manganese removal
- Multimedia filtration systems
- Activated carbon filtration
- Water softening systems
- RO pretreatment units
- Residential and commercial water treatment
It supports sand, carbon, resin, and manganese sand media.
What filter media can be used in FRP filter tanks in a pretreatment system?

Manganese Sand
The function is to use the manganese sand to oxidize the dissolved divalent iron or divalent manganese into insoluble trivalent iron or tetravalent manganese compounds respectively in water with too high iron and manganese content, and use the backwashing function of the manganese sand filter to achieve the purpose of removal and purification.
Quartz Sand
The quartz sand filter is a pressure filter. It uses the refined quartz sand filter material filled in the filter. When the incoming water flows through the filter layer from bottom to top, the suspended matter and colloid particles are removed, thereby reducing the turbidity of the water.

Activated Carbon
The main function is to remove large molecular organic matter, iron oxides, and residual chlorine. This is because organic matter, residual chlorine, and iron oxides can easily poison ion exchange resins, while residual chlorine, cationic surfactants, etc. will not only poison the resin but also destroy the membrane structure and make the reverse osmosis membrane ineffective.
Resin
It uses the principle of ion exchange to remove scaling ions such as calcium and magnesium from water. It is usually an integrated device consisting of a controller, a resin tank, and a salt tank. The controller can be automatic or manual. The automatic controller can automatically complete the cycle of softening water, backwashing, regeneration, forward washing, and automatic water replenishment of the salt tank. The manual controller needs to complete the above actions manually.

Filter Media Loading Reference:
For 1665 model, the volume is 190L. Therefore, the filter media that can be filled are:
| Filter Media | Loading Amount |
|---|---|
| Quartz Sand | 295 kg |
| Activated Carbon | 85 kg |
| Resin | 130 kg |
| Manganese Sand | 380 kg |
Typical bulk density of filter media used in FRP filter tanks:
- Quartz sand: 1.45–1.65 kg/L
- Activated carbon: 0.40–0.55 kg/L
- Ion exchange resin: 0.65–0.75 kg/L
- Manganese sand: 1.9–2.2 kg/L
Note: Filter media loading is calculated based on bulk density, not material true density.
