EDI Water Purification System: Advanced Electrodeionization for Ultra-Pure Water

The EDI Water Purification System integrates reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment with advanced electrodeionization technology, revolutionizing industrial water purification through chemical-free ion removal. By combining ion exchange resins, selective membranes, and DC electric fields, it delivers deionized water with conductivity <0.1 μS/cm (resistivity >15 MΩ·cm), outperforming traditional mixed-bed systems in efficiency and reliability. Its modular design supports scalable capacity (1-1000 LPH) for diverse applications, from USP-grade pharmaceutical water to semiconductor chip manufacturing.

 

EDI Water Treatment Process: 3 Core Stages

✅ Pretreatment & RO Integration

Raw water undergoes multi-media filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and RO desalination to remove suspended solids, chlorine, and 99% of dissolved salts (TDS <50 ppm). This protects EDI membranes from fouling and ensures inlet water meets strict criteria (hardness <1 ppm, TOC <0.5 ppm).

 

✅ Electrochemical Ion Separation

Within EDI modules, ion exchange resins trap remaining ions, while a DC electric field drives cations (e.g., Na⁺) toward the cathode and anions (e.g., Cl⁻) toward the anode. Ions migrate through selective membranes into a concentrated water chamber, where they are flushed out as wastewater.

 

✅ In-Situ Resin Regeneration & Pure Water Output

Water molecules dissociate into H⁺ and OH⁻ under the electric field, continuously regenerating resins without acid/alkali chemicals. The result is ultra-pure water (resistivity up to 18.2 MΩ·cm) stored in sanitized tanks for on-demand use.
